The Turfking 850 is a South African built and designed Heavy Duty Mower for all applications, Lawn cutting, Veld grass cutting. Self Driven this machine has 2 cutting speeds – fast and faster!

Mowing approx 3000 sqm per hour of level lawn. Good for Schools, sports clubs or big tough lawn areas. Built to Last Simple to Maintain.

  • Chassis: Welded assembly constructed with specially cold rolled 5 mm steel frame members.
  • Cutter Housing: 3 mm formed plate, welded into one piece for exceptional strength and improved grass flow.
  • Cutter Assembly: 3 mm thick pressed steel round blade carrier incorporating 3 easily replaceable, hardened and tempered swingback blades. Mounted on a 30 mm diameter axle steel cutter shaft running on heavy-duty sealed ball bearings. Bearing housing includes anti-wind covers on both top and bottom.
  • Transmission to Cutter: Heavy-duty wedge-section V-belt drive from engine crankshaft to cutter spindle.
  • Transmission to Wheels: V-belt drive from engine crankshaft to a fully enclosed oil-bath gearbox with hardened gears and shafts running on heavy-duty ball bearings. Chain drive from gearbox to heavy-duty differential mounted on three flanged ball bearings.
  • Wheel Drive Clutch: Over-centre action belt tensioner clutch.
  • Cutter Drive Clutch: Over-centre action to slide-mounted cutter housing.
  • Fibreglass Cover: Provides complete belt coverage. Easy removal with no bolts, secured by four rubber bonnet straps.
  • Rear Wheels: Solid rubber, 305 mm × 90 mm, mounted on split pressed steel rims and bolted to solid steel wheel hubs.
  • Front Wheels: Solid rubber with moulded-in steel bearing housing running on twin sealed ball bearings, mounted in swivel wheel castors.
  • Gearbox: 2-speed gearbox with speeds of 3.3 km/h and 6 km/h.
  • Gearbox Oil: EP90 gear oil – 0.5 litre.
  • Height of Cut: Adjustable from 12 mm to 75 mm via a 4-position handlebar-mounted lever.
  • Overall Width: 920 mm.
  • Overall Height: 895 mm.
  • Mass (with engine): Approximately 185 kg.
